Holiday Gift Guide | Colorful, Cozy Combos

The holiday festivities are in full gear now, and I’m finally ready to participate. I’m sorry, I’m 100% that girl that doesn’t start the Christmas celebration till after Thanksgiving. I need my time to celebrate each holiday. Regardless, it’s now time for some gift guides! With Mercury in retrograde (and not to mention majorly kicking my butt), all I want to do is cozy up on the couch, with a fire and some coffee. It seems appropriate to start off the holiday gift guides with all things that are warm and fuzzy, right? Without further ado, the first gift guide is colorful, cozy combos!

Whether you are like me and never want to leave your couch or care to venture out in the snow, I’ve rounded up 12 of my top pieces that make for the perfect, winter hug. Not to mention, they make excellent gifts. Let me know what your favorite piece is and if Mercury is kicking your butt, as well. We can have a cozy, pity party!

Grid inspired by Blair from Atlantic-Pacific

One | A red beanie. This is actually the hat I’m wearing! Pair it with a cozy blanket scarf and you can instantly make any outfit festive. Plus, you can wear this combo with almost any look. Red is that pop of color that goes with everything. If you’re traveling for the holidays, the cozy blanket scarf would also make for the perfect blanket on the plane.

Two | A statement scarf. Everyone needs to have a little fun when they to brave the cold. Channel that fun in a scarf! If you are one who has a more neutral wardrobe, this is such a fun piece to really bring attention to your look.

Three | A down jacket. Everyone needs a down jacket in their life. To be honest, I think they make excellent gifts, because they are jackets you have for life. Despite it’s puffiness, they are actually super compact and flattering. Plus, they serve as the perfect traveling jacket. Ben, my boyfriend, actually got this exact jacket for me for my birthday this month. We leave for Italy in January, and I think it’s going to be the only coat I take. It keeps you super warm, but doesn’t take up the space or the wait of a normal coat!

Four | A trandy faux fur jacket. When it comes to anything trendy that I want to experiment with, my first stop is Zara. Faux fur is always a good idea in the winter and it makes your outfit look expensive in an instant. With its monochromatic color scheme, it’ll prove to be extremely versatile too. For all the trendsetters in your life, snag them this jacket. Maybe send me one too…

Five | A pearl beret. It doesn’t get much more classic and timeless than a pearl beret. Hats are so much fun to style and I’m all about the berets. Take it to the next level with the pearl embellishment, and you’re practically in Paris. Seriously though, a black pearl beret should be a staple in everyone’s winter wardrobe. I snagged this exact one and I’ve already worn the poop out of it. Just hear it from the customer herself.

Six | An infinity scarf. I have a cream one, that I got a million years ago and I wear it to bits. Sometimes you really want to bundle up, because it’s colder than snot out.  That’s where infinity scarfs come in clutch. This one can serve as a gaiter, which is what I wear when I go skiing. Basically it’s Sporty Spice of the infinity scarf family. Count me in to all things skiing themed! Plus, retro colors are always a good idea.

Seven | A striped turtleneck sweater. I mean, it’s the best time to wear a striped sweater! Let’s be honest, I have this sweater in two colors and I want this color. It’s comfy, thin enough to layer, and thick enough to keep you perfectly warm. All you have to do is pick your favorite color combo. SOLD!

Eight | A pair of fun mittens. For some reason, I never think to buy myself gloves or mittens. Therefore, I’m always pumped to receive them as gifts. The saying “cute as mittens” should represent your actual mittens, so what’s cuter than yellow mittens? It’s that pop of color to make you smile as you brave the cold weather. Give your loved ones a hand, will ya?

Nine | A staple faux fur coat. Now, I know I talked about the trendy faux fur jacket. However, you probably need a classic, faux fur coat first. Once you step outside that door, you need something effortless and versatile to elevate every single one of your looks. This one in particular adds an extra level of chic, with the lapel and the chestnut brown shade. There’s something so luxe about this coat, that it makes everyone want it!

Ten | Yet another beanie. Let’s be real. One can never have too many beanies. This one in particular is from one of my favorite small businesses in Chicago, and I think it’s such a unique color combo. Channel all those icy vibes and the cold won’t bother you anyways, especially with this beanie!

Eleven | A fair isle sweater. Nothing says a cold winter day, quite like a fair isle sweater. They scream ski lodge chic. Those heritage vibes will always remain in style, which would make for the perfect gift for practically anyone. This one in particular is fun with the icy lilac shade (Pantone color of the year, might I add). Plus, the geometric element is different than the everyday fair isle sweater.

Twelve | A faux fur stole. It’s like the faux fur jacket, but the less extra version of it. These are the type of scarfs, where you need that extra finishing touch to your look to really pull it all together. They are great to accent a holiday look for all your festive parties. Just picture it – that sleeveless, beaded dress with a faux fur stole. DEAD. Plus, this purple one is just too fun not to play around with. It also comes in this color and this color.
