First of all, I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving and a successful Black Friday! Cyber Monday deals still seem to be going on so, if your wallet doesn’t hurt too much than take advantage of those deals. Although, that’s not really what I’m hear to talk about today. This Thanksgiving has caused me to do a little thinking about what’s really important to me. A challenge to participate in, per-say. I ask myself, what is the constant in your life amongst the crazy thing we call life?
The holidays are usually a time for old traditions and new traditions. Thanksgiving is usually the time my family partakes in old traditions. From sharing it with my family from Maryland to watching Christmas Vacation after Thanksgiving dinner, there a bunch of traditions I always look forward to. This year, was a bit off, but in all honesty was the root of my question. My immediate answer was family. No matter the situation, they are always there. My family is strong and durable enough to adapt to every situation. Hint hint, this is where the idea of coming in clutch came from. I think people forget just how important their family is and take advantage of them. Cherish that time with them store those memories somewhere safe… in a box with a heavy duty lock that is weather proof.
If family isn’t a huge priority, which I understand is the case sometimes, think about what your priorities are. Who or what are the constants in your life? What is durable in your life that can adapt and change to mold in the midst of your crazy life? For this last month of 2016, I challenge you to be thankful for those constants. Since family is my constant, I thought it was suitable to introduce my one and only brother, Ian.
When I think what’s durable and constant in our lives through clothing, these are what comes to mind for us. First of all jeans, are a necessary element to everyone’s wardrobe. They are durable and adaptable to almost every situation. As we move on to our tops, we both wanted something fun to make the excitement in our lives as constant as possible. For Thanksgiving we always go skeet shooting so this is where Ian’s Polo shooting shirt comes into play. Plus, a plaid shirt is always a staple. I wanted to portray some sort of t-shirt. This Zara shirt is the perfect example of business in the front and party in the back, which is always a part of life. Finally, sturdy boots are needs to keep us on our feet. We both depend on our trusty brands for boots. Ian’s favorites are Timberland and mine are Sorel. No matter what life throws at us, we can keep on trekking.
Before 2016 is over, challenge yourself to uncover what is constant in your life. Brainstorm what is durable enough to help you conquer the world one step at a time. Then, take this idea to your closet. What pieces make you happy and which ones are always going to come in clutch for you? This is a great way to start a decluttering process, which is perfect to accomplish before the start of a new year. Wrap up what you need and if you don’t have those pieces, invest in them during the holidays. Treat your the priorities in your life and let them know how thankful you are that they are always there.
