I Jump(suit) the Line

With the summer beginning, all I want to do is binge shop. New, cute clothes for the summer just makes me happy and with a new internship in South Carolina, I have an excuse. The key thing I was looking for when shopping was finding pieces I didn’t have. That sounds ridiculous, but I can get in a rut with buying the same pieces over and over again. I also wanted clothes that would make a statement for the start of the summer, but that would boomerang and come back throughout the summer. I keep my eyes wide open all the time, and found the perfect piece. The jumpsuit.

No matter the situation, a jumpsuit will always come in clutch. Whether you are channeling your inner artsy Mona Lisa self or your classic Audrey Hepburn side, it can transform to meet your needs. The key to not making a jumpsuit a one-trick-pony is styling. Constantly push yourself to get inspiration for different places. The more you switch around your accessories, the more your jumpsuit will look like a new outfit each time you wear it.

After Coachella, the western theme became a huge trend. From belt buckles to bandana scarfs to bolo necklaces, the western aesthetic is being merged into our everyday wardrobes. With a jumpsuit so unrelated to the western ways, I wanted to rise to the challenge (insert Barney Stinson emoji). Since this bolo necklace from Lulus has a turquoise bead in the center, it accessorizes the jumpsuit while still being cohesive. I keep the ends out for the tie that binds. The hat helps smooth out the western statement necklace with the more modern, printed jumpsuit. To pull the look together, I incorporated the monochromatic trend with the biggest Pantone color of the season, Rose Quartz.

This particular jumpsuit from Lulus gives me a cause for love that I can’t hide. Since I’m 5’3, finding a jumpsuit that I don’t have to hem is next to impossible. With the cropped pants length being so on trend, it allowed me to be able to just simply roll them. Because you’re mine, I walk the line. This summer pick out your favorite jumpsuit and accept the styling challenge! Integrate different types of inspiration into your looks and see what you come up with.
