Top 12 Underrated Beauty Products You Need To Know About

When it comes to purchasing makeup products, it’s all about the hype. In fact, marketing teams are dependent on it. When a new product is released, products are sent out to all the biggest beauty gurus and vloggers out there. It instantly becomes that must-have product. Their sneaky agenda though, is providing a limited amount of stock. That way they will sell out, making the hype that much more intense.

Although, today is not about those products. Today is about those other guys that don’t get as much love as they should. That’s the beauty about these products. See what I did there? They have the same quality as these must have products, but they are much more under the radar. Ain’t nobody got time to wait for that restock! With that being said, I wanted to share with you some underrated beauty products that you need to know about. It will be our little secret. Well, our 12 little secrets.

Laura Geller’s Baked Blush-n-Brighten + Colourpop’s Super Shock Highlighters

First up on our list of secrets, are the Laura Geller Baked Blush-n-Brighten Blushes. First of all, they are gorgeous just looking at them. Their mosaic of color really allows for the shades to blend together, leaving you with a more custom created flush for your cheeks. Plus, they always have the most gorgeous glow to them, with zero sparkles involved! The creamy powder really leaves you with the most beautiful, glowing complexion. My favorites are Pink Grapefruit and Apricot Berry.

Next up are the Colourpop Super Shock Highlighters. I know what you are thinking. Colourpop is not a hidden gem. In fact, they are in the hype category. Yes, are are most definitely correct about that. Although, lately they have been merging away from their bouncy formula and are introducing pressed powders. With that being said, their super shock highlighters are getting left in the dust! Personally, I use them every day as a cream highlight. With the Summer heat, cream products in general compliment your skin more than a powder. I usually layer this underneath all my powders, for that extra glow. My all-time favorite shade is Lunch Money.

Melt Cosmetics Eyeshadow Stacks in Gun Metal and Rust

Moving on to a more innovated product, the Melt Stacks. Now you might have seen the bottom stack around- the Rust StackI’m cheating a bit, because this particular stack was a part of the hype/restock cult. Although, it still falls underneath the underrated beauty products category. The cool thing about these products is their packaging. Not only are the shades and formulas of the eyeshadows on point, but each of them are magnets. Packaging can make or break a product, and this packing takes the product to the next level. The magnets allows you to stack eyeshadows on top of each other. Hence, the name. My favorites are the Rust (of course) and Gun Metal Stack.

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer + Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara

If you have combination skin with slightly enhanced pores, you will absolutely love this next product. I purchased the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer on a whim to test out, while perusing the makeup aisle at Walgreens. I must say, I was not expecting to love it as much as I do. I use this everyday (especially for photoshoots) and have not once broken out. Plus, it’s $6.99! It just can’t be beat with that price tag.

As for mascaras, I only use two and have been for the past year. Why stop when you have a combo that’s so good? I start off using the ever hyped and popular Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara to get the volume going. Than to really lengthen and finish off my lashes, I come in with my secret weapon- Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara. I’m telling you, it’s magic in a tube. I will say that the travel size is the best thing ever, with the full size being a runner up. Regardless, there’s just something in this mascara that makes your lashes look incredible. Honestly, I think this is the most underrated product in this post.

Ofra’s Liquid Lipsticks

Now Ofra is not really that underrated. Although, they do tend to blend in with their liquid lipsticks. I feel they are an underrated beauty product, because there are so many other brands that are producing liquid lipsticks. With out a doubt though, these are my absolute favorite liquid lipsticks of all time. I wore Atlantic City (the red liquid lip in the picture) all through college, for cheerleading. It was mandatory for us to wear a red lipstick. With all the stunting and tumbling going on, I needed a lipstick that was not going anywhere! After a 6+ hour game day with eating greasy pizza at halftime, I never had to retouch my lipstick. Atlantic City you will forever be my one and only red liquid lipstick.

Inglot Cosmetics

Inglot as a brand is completely underrated. Almost every one of their products is amazing, but you don’t really hear people talk about them. When you do, it’s always the same thing. They absolutely love them, but wished they used them more. They then proceed to put their products out in a more visible area from them to be aware of when doing their makeup. I am at fault for this same reason. Their eyeshadows in particular are super underrated beauty products. By using their Freedom Systems, you can create your own custom palette! Plus, their pan size is almost double any other eyeshadow pan (INGLOT: 2.3 grams > MAKEUP GEEK: 1.8 grams > MAC: 1.5 grams). Doesn’t get much better than that!

Kiko Milano

The first time I discovered Kiko makeup was when I studied abroad in Florence, Italy my junior year of college. On my walk to school, I would pass Kiko EVERY SINGLE DAY. It’s like they knew I had no will power. Anyways, every product I would try would be amazing, and I thought I had struck gold! Which I mean I did, but then Kathleen Lights did too… I love her though, so it’s all good Kathleen! She always talks about her Kiko Sculpt Extra Volume Mascara, but I have yet to try because of Tarte’s Gifted Mascara. Told you guys, I can’t help it! Anyways, I have really fell in love with these “chocolate blushes”, but found out they were limited edition when I started writing this post. Cool Bryanna. Although, their baked blushes look even better! Regardless, get yourself some Kiko products now.

Trader Joe’s Coconut Body Butter + Tocca Perfume in Florence

I didn’t want to conclude this post without sharing some non makeup underrated beauty products. Since our legs are coming out of hibernation for the Summer, we definitely need some lotion for them. Not only do I have an amazing quality product, but it smells like a tropical vacation, AND you can get it at Trader Joe’s. SCORE! With pure coconut oil, aloe vera, shea butter and vitamin E, this product will leave your dry skin feeling glorious (and smelling like delicious coconuts).

I know you have heard me rave about this perfume, but I can’t stop, won’t stop! Every time I wear this perfume (and I actually leave my house), I get compliments. Even the lady at Five Guys wanted to know what I was wearing! Every time I smell it, it reminds me of Florence. With the main scent base of floral and key notes of Bergamot, Gardenia, Blonde Wood, you instantly smell irresistible. Do yourself a favor; go to Sephora and spray yourself with Tocca Perfume in Florence for the day, and see what happens. I dare you!

It’s A 10 Miracle Leave-In Product + Simple Kind To Skin Protecting Light Moisturizer

When it comes to hair and skincare products, I stick to what I know. Because the beauty industry is growing so much, there are so many competing products. It’s hard to know which ones are good and which ones are out for money. With that it mind, I like to keep things simple (maybe a bit too literally). When I was younger, I used to use SunIn like a mofo. Needless to say, my hair was damaged for about two years, till it finally started growing again. Ever since then, I have been religiously using It’s A 10 Miracle Leave-In Product. Especially with the summer coming up, you should too! It really helps keep your hair healthy with all the heat and chlorine.

Finally, I have my handy dandy Simple Moisturizer. I used to use the Aveeno one, but kept breaking out every couple of months. I found it to be too thick and heavy for my combination skin. With that being said, I really wanted something light and simple. Needless to say, I was marketed on their name alone. I couldn’t be happier though, and I just got the moisturizer with the SPF in it for the summer. Such an underrated beauty product, because it’s so simple!

Comment down below on any products that you feel are completely underrated. I have no self control when it comes to buying makeup, so I’m always on the hunt for new products. Also, thanks Jamie Paige for coming up with this idea and being so on point.

Bryanna!! I have added all these products to my “to-try” list and pinned this post. I always wanted to try Melt cosmetics but wonder if they sell them individually?

Those LG blushes look so pretty! Do they’re shimmery right?
