When it comes to understanding styling, it’s really being able to master the art of versatility. If you feel you don’t understand how to style and put articles of clothing together, than focus on understanding your pieces on their own. Once you master your clothes, you will be able to fully appreciate just how versatile they are. From there, it will be easier to link those pieces together.
When it comes to the summer, you want to wear what’s comfortable and light. If I were to take a poll of the number one piece of clothing people first state when they think of summer, it would be a bathing suit. Am I right? Why only limit a bathing suit to the beach or the pool? In most cases you are wearing them for long periods of time, which one can assume that you have found a comfortable suit. Since bralettes are so on trend for the summer, why not make bathing suit tops the next dupes?
Many bathing suit tops are bright and colorful. Others are more architectural and focus on interesting strap patterns. Regardless, they all demand attention! Use them to your advantage! Layer them under v-neck t-shirts or off the shoulder tops. I promise, it will take your outfit to the next level. This can also be taken further and tops can serve as cover ups. This allows the individual piece to be more worth your money. Isn’t that what we are trying to get out of our clothes anyway? Versatility is key this summer and it will only improve your styling skills.
For accessorizing, add a fun scarf and some cool shades. I lucked out and received this scarf when I studied abroad in Florence, Italy. A special thanks to Emily LaBenne who designed this adorable piece!
