In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, POPSUGAR Inc. and CFDA Foundation partnered together in support of the CFDA’s Fashion Targets Brest Cancer initiative. Their mission is to strengthen the impact of American Fashion in the Global Economy, while raising funds for charity and industry events. CFDA is a not-for-profit trade association, founded in 1962, who’s recruited over 500 of the most well-known and successful fashion designers in the world.
From October 17th- 23rd, I will be donating 10% of my profits this week to FTBC! POPSUGAR Inc. will also be donating a separate $5,000 that will additionally match all participating ShopStyle Collective bloggers donations for $1 for $1, in excess of $5,000, up to a maximum of $5,000, for a total POPSUGAR Inc, maximum donation of $10,000. How amazing is that?! Although, sales orignating in AL, HI, IL, MA, MS, SC and outside of the US will not qualify towards the 10% of net sales towards donations.
More than 500+ leading fashion womenswear, menswear, jewelry, and accessories designers have become members of CFDA. Fashion and philanthropy intersect quiet a bit and I believe this to be in response to the success and effectiveness of the fashion industry. It is a good way to give back, while participating in and creating art with fashion. Art is a great way to express yourself and by adding philanthropy to the mix, it allows for other women to have the confidence to do the same.
When looking through my wardrobe to see which of these designers is prominent, I came across a lot of Rebecca Minkoff, Vince Camuto, Sophia Amoruso from Nasty Gal, Michael Kors, and David Yurman. Rebecca Minkoff brings a on-trend edge to every outfit. Vince Camuto brings versatility to every Girlboss’ wardrobe. Sophia Amoruso from Nasty Gal inspires women to aim for their dream jobs, to dress to stand out, and to be confident in their own skin. Michael Kors provides the essential pieces that every women needs in their wardrobe. David Yurman brings a sense of timelessness to every look with his impeccable jewelry designs. This mix of designers allows me to mix trendy pieces with timeless pieces to concoct a powerful and fashionable wardrobe for every occasion.
