It seems to be that everyone has a love/hate relationship with Valentine’s Day. It’s so complicated these days and it’s expected to be this big production towards girls. This Valentine’s Day I want to make it easy on you. Make this day all about the things you love and the people you care about. Focus on the things that make you happy and the people that make you smile. Valentine’s Day should be dedicated to those things and not whose boyfriend spoiled their girl the most.
When I think about the things I love (besides my family and friends… obviously), the first thing that comes to mind is Kent State. She’s not just a pretty face though. Kent has taught me how to have a fashion line and be a journalist for “Time”. I’m even on the sidelines “coaching” the football team every once in awhile. Over the past four years, I have had some of the craziest experiences of my life and have met some of my best friends here at school. I’ve been able to study abroad and participate in athletics. It forces you out of your comfort zone in order to truly find yourself. Without Kent State, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Since I’m almost halfway through my last semester here, I figured it would be the perfect time to display my love for Kent.
I don’t know about you, but I’m not much of an emotional person. My mom calls me an emotional desert… My little secret to explain how I’m feeling is through my clothes. In order to be comfortable on your night out, wear some pants to switch it up. These J.Crew lace pants are not only comfy, but sweet and girly as well! The pale pink color makes them perfect for Valentine’s Day. Carry out the lace theme to add a not-so-typical Valentine element. To continue this feminine ensemble, throw on a detailed, girly cardigan to keep you warm. Finish off the look with a pop of red on your feet and your favorite lipstick. The more comfortable you feel, the better you look. Your valentine will know right off the bat that you’re not just a pretty face.
So whether you host a tv show or you ride the rodeo, have fun this Valentine’s Day! It’s all about celebrating what you love. Don’t make it complicated people! Wear your comfiest, most feminine outfit you have and be yourself! You’ve got everything it takes. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
