St. Patrick’s Day may be a week away, but the festivities are already starting! In Cincinnati, the St. Patrick’s Day parade is this Saturday and the celebration goes for the next two weekends. Originally, I was not going to post anything for St. Patrick’s Day. Most of the time, cheesy, “Kiss Me I’m Irish” tees are mutated and worn by everyone. At the last minute though, an idea struck me. We are all creative and stylish people here, right? This year I though it would be fun to rock a cute outfit, that does not fall under the cheesy category. Without further ado, let’s put our fashion knowledge to the test and come up something a little more unique.
Usually, St. Patrick’s Day is an all day ordeal. Whether you are at a house party or downtown in your city celebrating, festivities start early in the morning and don’t end till the next day. You want to be comfortable and don’t want to worry about your feet hurting, or your clothing getting in your way. The best way to go is to keep it simple. My lucky charms for my go-to cute outfit are always jeans, sneakers, a graphic tee, a statement jacket, and killer shades. It’s a full-proof formula that always works in my favor. You’re causal enough, so you don’t feel uncomfortable and overdressed. The statement jacket and shades allow you to look like you didn’t just roll out of bed (which you probably did). Finally, your sneakers keep your feet feeling good all day long. Sounds like a A+ formula to me!
[ezcol_1half][/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end][/ezcol_1half_end]First of all, let’s talk about this Zara military jacket. Seriously, it was love at first site. I know I just recently posted about my Anthropologie embroidered, military jacket, but they are so on trend. Therefore, it’s okay to be a trend repeater. For St. Patrick’s Day, a military jacket is the easiest and most stylish way to go. First of all, it’s green. Simple enough. In addition, it’s considered a “neutral” color. This makes it super easy to style and pair with other pieces. This jacket is particularly on trend, because of it’s bell sleeves. I would vote it as the most popular trend of the season. I can’t get enough of it! Plus, the tribal trimming adds such a cute detail to the jacket.
[ezcol_1half][/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end][/ezcol_1half_end]To pair with the jacket, I knew this Man Repeller dinosaur tee would be a great talking piece. I feel like I’m channeling Ross Geller. Any graphic tee will look super cool, though. I paired both them with my infamous, ASOS, mom jeans. #sorrynotsorry. They go with everything! Furthermore, my Adidas Superstars keep the green theme going. Plus, the Adidas logo kinda looks like a clover. How lucky can you get?!
Finally, throw on a cute pair of shades and some clover tattoos to go! These Westward Leaning shades matched so perfectly with the graphic tee, so I had to wear them. Such a great investment piece. As for the tattoos, I think it looks really cute to put little baby clovers by your eyes. They just add that extra tinkle in your eyes. I also included Ofra Cosmetics‘ metallic liquid lip in Emerald City, because it’s not everyday you can socially wear a green, metallic lipstick. The best way to wear it is over a nude lipstick. I wore it over Mac’s Whirl for a darker look. Basically, it’s like a warmup for festival season makeup. This way you can still have your festive pieces of Ireland incorporated, without being obnoxious.
Pro Tip: To take off your clover tattoos at the end of the day, use scotch tape!
[ezcol_1half][/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end][/ezcol_1half_end]St. Patrick’s Day has always been a fun day of celebration. Before going out and buying pieces for your outfit though, I would definitely utilize your closet first. I guarantee you will have most of your pieces already. If you do want to spice up your outfit a bit, I scoured the internet for you guys and linked 25 of my favorite green pieces down below. From jackets to pants, tees to sunglasses, I have you covered. (Check out that first piece I linked… I’m obsessed!) Wouldn’t want you walking around getting pinched all day! If I’m lucky, I hope this finds you some sort of inspiration for your St. Patrick’s Day look. Hope you all have a great weekend celebrating!

It looks like you’re SO ready for a day of fun! I’ve never celebrated St Patrick’s Day (even though my heritage is mostly Irish haha) – aside from my mom making “Irish Potato Candy” (sounds weird but tastes delicious). However, I’m loving all the green going on in this look. It suits you!

As St Patricks Day isn’t celebrated here (with an exception of at Irish pubs) I don’t have to deal with that issue, but then again, any excuse for wearing green is good enough for me and this suddenly became my new fave holiday, haha. š I love the green jacket from Zara and all your green details to go with the outfit!

That’s hilarious haha. I guess I wasn’t meaning to take it away, but incorporate a non-cheesy piece in addition! Thanks so much for hosting Fun Fashion Friday!

I LOVE this idea of non-cheesy pieces! I see way too many “kiss me I’m Irish” shirts and like to incorporate my green in a different way. I’m also obsessing over your jacket.
