New Years Eve is the time to reflect. It’s a time to reminisce on the times you had throughout the year. Whether it’s the ups or the downs, there are lessons to be learned. It’s a time to self evaluate and to establish what can be improved upon. It’s a time to celebrate the coming of the new year and the ending of a previous chapter. As the ball drops and the new year rolls in, we can only hope that this next year will be the best, the most productive, and the most successful. And when you get the chance, you dust off a favorite dress of the past!
Everyone always wishes that they could have the opportunity to wear their high school homecoming dresses again. For the amount of money probably spent, they should be. As a reflection of the past, dig out your homecoming dresses and take them on a tour of New Years Eve! I mean you are the dancing queen, young and sweet, only seventeen. Well, at least in high school you were… Since it’s a new year, put a modern twist on it and add a leather jacket and some chunky heels. This also dresses it down just a bit so we don’t actually look like we are going back to homecoming. The point is to reflect, but move forward!
Sequins always seem to be the trend for new years. They symbolize the point of NYE. Reflect on the past, but move forward toward the light of your future. Since they are so sparkly, they reflect the night lights. Instead of going out and buying a new sparkly dress, reuse one that you’ve always wanted to! You already know how confident it makes you, which will help you start off on the right foot in 2016. Feel the beat from the tambourine and everyone will be digging the dancing queen.
I challenge you this 2016 to go outside your comfort zone when it comes to your styling. Try new things, make mistakes, and enjoy your freedom of expression. You don’t know what you don’t try, so experiment with your outfits! Have a great NYE and have fun! The night is young and the music’s high. You can dance, you can jive, (maybe not so much jive) having the time of your life. See you in 2016!
