Halloween is a time to celebrate that things are weird in life. It’s the one night where it’s acceptable to be someone else. To be able to envelop that persona, allows us to fully be ourselves. That sounds completely backwards, but it’s true. When you don’t care if you’re creepy, spooky, or all together ooky, you’ve established self confidence. Sometime it’s fun to just let loose and embrace these oddities. Before you transition into your killer costume, slay the day in an outfit that isn’t so consumed of polyester. It’s time to run with the shadows of the night the more fashionable way!
The key to looking festive without wearing a costume is editing. Have a statement piece that just screams Halloween. This will serve as the focal point. I chose this skull sweater that really gives off an eerie, gothic vibe. From there, use the focal point as the base to the rest of your look. I followed suit to the gothic theme with the dark, cool toned colors. Blue, purple and grey all add a mysterious mood without overdoing the use of black. A Halloween look wouldn’t be complete without a pair of creepers. The name in general complements the festive look. Surrender to the knee-high socks, which will add some warmth to your legs. Add some rustic, metal jewelry to pull it all together.
Halloween only happens one time a year, so why not put those festive pieces to use! Don’t forget to have a focal point to style the rest of your outfit around. You wouldn’t want to be caught dead looking ridiculous now, would you? Grab some festive accessories to vamp up your look. Whether it’s skeleton-looking shades or some creepy shoes, they add a piece of Halloween without stealing the show. Have fun this Halloween and Al B. Bach next week for some more Coming in Clutch!
