Happy first day of fall everyone! It’s finally time to start dusting off our warmer layers from the back of our closets. Although, it’s about that time of the year where the weather is a bit awkward and you don’t know what to wear. Do you wear a sweater and some jeans or are you going to be sweating by noon, consequently? Everyone loves changing three times a day, don’t they?! Didn’t think so. In that case, we still have some lingering layers that we can utilize from the summer to have the most stylish transition into the fall.
When I think of summer, the pieces that stick out to me are dresses and rompers. With their light and airy fabrics, they are easy to deflect the heat. They will still be extremely helpful with these hot afternoons. I found this one from Urban Outfitters and it’s currently on sale for $19.99, when I bought it for $69. Rather annoying for me, but such a steal for you! I wore this dress frequently throughout the summer and the straps are the best part. In addition, I was thinking I could transition it into the fall with its rich color scheme. Any summer dress will do, though! The problems areas with the weather are the mornings and evenings. Might be a little cold for just this strappy, halter dress.
To keep you comfortable the entire day, add a fun blouse over top of the dress! The key part about the fall is the lingering layers. They help keep the outfit interesting, while catering to your needs when dealing with the uncooperative weather. I’m sure many of you have an off-the-shoulder top, so throw this on over your summer dress. If you would like to shop the look, this chambray off-the-shoulder top is from Francesca’s! Remember when I was raving about Francesca’s in my Back-to-School Series|The Labels post? I picked this top up when I got the bomber jacket. It’s by far the perfect off-the-shoulder top for the fall. It not only has cute little sleeve ties, but it allows you to have a blank canvas for some jewelry, lingering, layers!
To jump into the fall spirit, pair your favorite booties with some cozy socks. These booties are a million years old, but I have linked a couple very similar ones for you to check out! In addition, I was feeling a lace up bootie to really embrace the new season. To accessorize, I wanted to incorporate some rich browns. With the western trend still in full force, I figured this bolo necklace, from Lulu’s, was the perfect fit. The other choker necklace is simply just the straps from my dress! Just wrap those guys around once and now you have yourself a dual-purpose dress! Add some turquoise earrings to bring in the turquoise from the necklace. Finally, complete the look with a fun pair of shades and a western, saddle bag! You have officially transitioned into fall! You just have to let it linger, though.
