Valentine’s Day In The Real Galaxy

Valentine’s Day is coming, whether you are ready or not! It’s the holiday we all love to hate or hate to love. This year, I wanted to be one with the force, considering Valentine’s Day falls on a Tuesday. It’s a work night and I bet most of you will be spending it in or going to dinner and possibly a movie. While wearing a red dress is super romantic and festive, it’s not very practical for the day of the week that it falls on. Who knows, maybe you all are going up on a Tuesday… I could be completely wrong. Regardless, today’s post is all about how to rock the causal scene with a bit of a twist!

As you can see, I’m rocking an out-of-this-world, Star Wars graphic tee. I have a problem and can’t get enough Star Wars merch. My whole idea behind this post is catered to what my boyfriend and I would actually do for Valentine’s Day. Although this year, Ben is at the Aeronautics-Air Traffic Control Academy in Oklahoma City. I will be going to visit that Thursday, but will not be there for Valentine’s Day. I’m sure on the weekend we will celebrate with dinner and a movie, our personal favorite. Not very exciting or original, but we are huge fans of the movies. If I were to show up to the movies in a red dress, I might look a little… over-dressed. Having a dedicated day to celebrating people you love should be as authentic as possible, am I right?

Anyways, back to my Star Wars tee. Just this weekend, I picked it up at Macy’s. It was actually in the men’s section, but they always have the best selection of graphic tees. They also had quite a few other Star Wars options. With my luck though, I go to edit this post and I can’t find this shirt ANYWHERE! I just got it this weekend! Apparently, Macy’s is trying to play games… If you do want this exact shirt, I would physically go to your Macy’s store and check it out. Otherwise, they have a couple other ones online.

On a different website though, I hit the jackpot. This specific brand is called Fifth Sun. They, no joke, have at least a million amazing Star Wars shirts! I clicked through 22 pages and couldn’t find my specific shirt, and then my mom clicked through 78 pages. This shirt can’t be found anywhere online, but I guarantee you will find another favorite on Fifth Sun’s website.

Since your Valentine or Galantines are out of this world, I though it was be appropriate to stick with this galactic theme. I originally I bought this pair of black denim with splatter paint on them at Zara. We all know how Zara is and how fast-fashion they are. Although, you are in luck! I found almost an exact dupe from River Island. Furthermore, they are the easiest and most-stylish way to amp up your black denim game.

As for a jacket, a leather one would look absolutely killer. That was my initial reaction to styling this outfit. Although, I wanted to try something a little bit different and a bit more dressed up. This blazer even has the speckled, galactic theme going on. I found another dupe for it at Topshop. To me it adds just a hint more mystery.

As for the accessories, I had a bunch of fun with this. Of course, this outfit would not be complete without the diamond necklace Ben got me. Since this was such a fun outfit, I knew that layering some necklaces would add some more dimension. The Lucky Brand, two-toned, pendant necklace allowed me to mix both silver and gold. With both the long and the medium necklace length’s covered, I knew I could finish off the layering game with a choker from Urban Outfitters. For my earrings, I thought these Dannijo ear jackets added the perfect punch of edgy to the rest of the look. I found  another pair from Nadri, which are a fraction of the cost and are almost an exact dupe to the Dannijo ones.

To finish off my accessories, I knew I had to be festive. As most of my outfit is black, I needed to add that punch of color. These Toms booties, were the perfect pair of shoes to wrap up this outfit. The peep-toe element, kept in theme with the edginess and the mysteriousness to the look. I can’t tell you how much wear I got out of these over the fall, and was so thrilled to bring them back! My studded Rebecca Minkoff bag also follows suit. Originally, I purchased this at the Rebecca Minkoff sample sale in NYC, but I have found a couple other options that I linked down below in the scroll bar. To really bring out the silver in my accessories, these Westward Leaning shades did just the trick. I’m telling you, they are worth the investment.

Due to all the studs and dark tones, I get that this look isn’t super romantic or girly. I find it weird though, that there is only one day out of the year that we are celebrating how much we care about the people in our life. I wanted to really celebrate the fact that love is year-round and to dress how you love to. I am not a very girly person and I love to wear an outfit with some strength. Where this may not be your cup of tea, it’s really brings the element of mystery to the table. Not to mention, it shows your Valentine just how extraordinary they are. Regardless, I hope you have an amazing Valentine’s Day and may the force be you.

Girl your outfit is so cute! It definitely is perfect for a date night where you really don’t wanna go all out. Also, since it does (did) fall on a work day it would make sense to wear something cute and casual after a long day of work šŸ™‚

Right?! You get it. Causal is the way to go. You are the best!

Loving this dialed down look Bri! In fact, to me, it’s not dialed down at all because I’d so rather be in something like this rather than getting all dressed up! The speckled denim and pops of red add the perfect details!

Your out of the world, edgy Valentine look is unique and I love the touch of all the candy in that shoe shot and that heart candy box as a clutch. I need a Star Wars tee myself, I need to check out Macy’s. =)

I agree! I rarely dress up, so jeans and a cute top are much more my style, even for Valentine’s Day!! Plus, you’re right, it would look so silly to head to the movies all glammed out šŸ˜‰ Love those jeans and booties!! Hope you have a great Valentine’s Day!

I SO love the totally “out of this world” direction that your post took! Your outfit is all sorts of fantastic – you could totally just use this outfit another time during the year and just tell us how to SLAY a graphic tee haha – and even your additional accessories (the candy hearts) made this way cute! I’m so glad there’s someone else who takes to the men’s section when it comes to graphic tees haha – I don’t think I own a single women’s one, actually. All my Marvel tees are from either Walmart or Target’s men’s section! They’re just the comfiest, and I love that they’re not quite as fitted! Such a super fun post, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your boo!

Yes! Women’s graphic tees are just too tight and fitted. Cheer to men’s graphic tee shoppers! You are totally right though, and I could incorporate this at a later time for a graphic tee post. Thanks so much for the suggestion and hope you have a fabulous Valentine’s Day, love ā¤ļø

I think I say this every single time I read one of your posts but I do love your style! It’s so unique and so chic at the same time. I love the jeans the way you style that tee, and the girly touch with the open toe shoes šŸ’•

My boyfriend and I also enjoy the classic dinner and a movie date, so fun and romantic! I seriously love this modern, edgy twist on a Valentine’s Day look. What’s the deal with men’s sections ALWAYS having way better graphic tees than women’s?! They fit so much better and have way more variety. Love how you styled your Star Wars shirt! Hope you and your man have an amazing Valentine’s Day!

Right?! Sometimes it’s nice to chill and watch a movie and share some popcorn. Seriously, I have no idea why they don’t just size up women’s graphic tees. I guess men just get graphic tees better haha. Thanks so much Sarah, and I hope you have a fabulous Valentine’s Day as well! ā¤ļø
