Super Bowl Sunday Is When?

Not going to lie you guys, I’ve been slacking with football this year. I like to consider myself a sporty person and pretty in-the-know of sports news and games, but this year I just really haven’t cared to be quite honest. I had no idea when the Super Bowl was let alone, who was playing in it this year, until yesterday… I’m pathetic I know. With that being said, it gave me an idea. Why not dedicate this post to the delayed people, like myself! As a result, I’ve got you covered in this post on what to wear to any “last minute” (because it is, to us) Super Bowl parties!

Before we begin, we have to do a bit of homework first. We need appear that we know what’s going on, despite the fact that we don’t. I have graciously done this step for you all. After, three minutes of research, I found out that Super Bowl Sunday is indeed this Sunday! Also, the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons are taking the field this year. Exciting right?… I feel like the Patriots are always in the Super Bowl. Although, we participate for the commercials, beer, and food, so it doesn’t really matter. Fake it till you make it, am I right?

The next step, that makes it a bit easier deciding what to wear, is knowing the teams’ colors. Pretend your rooting for one. If you really are rooting for a specific team, you are most impressive my friend. If this was baseball, I’d be right there with you. Obviously the Patriots’ team colors are Nautical Blue, New Century Silver, White, and Red. The Falcons’ team colors are Black, White, Silver, and Red. It’s like the fashion gods new you wouldn’t be in-the-know! How easy can it get?

When deciding what to wear, my whole concept was to come off casual and sporty, but to also have some punch of fashion to it. When going to a Super Bowl party, it’s super casual to begin with and most people are wearing their team’s merch. If you have some, great! That was easy. If you are like me and don’t have any merch, use this time to showcase your favorite sporty sweatshirt or jacket! Obviously, don’t go out and buy a new one, for I know you have a bunch in your closet. In addition, I just wanted to take the time to introduce you to my favorite sweatshirts from the brand MSGM (of course my particular sweatshirt is sold out…). Never fear though, there’s so many more cute ones!

My all-time favorite Italian designer is Massimo Giorgetti, who created the brand MSGM. He is basically me as a man, fashion designer. With inspiration from indie music, contemporary art, the web, and color, his style has emerged and grown into the sporty, creative, entrepreneurial millennial’s dream ! That was a mouthful. “With a Kaleidoscope world made of colors, shapes and lines, he has capably caught the public’s interest and attention and has been acknowledged as one the most intriguing brand of the moment.” I’ve linked my favorite sweatshirts of his down below, but you can find a million more on Farfetch.com. He is a luxury brand, so just keep this in mind.

To add that dramatic pop of fashion, these flatform, Marc Jacobs slides are just the piece for this occasion. You can find them on Hautelook for almost 50% off, but the sale ends today! I repeat, the sale ends today! Believe me when I tell you, that you will love them on as much and you love looking at them. They literally feel like wearing vans, but you are two/three inches taller. The perfect shoe for us shorties. In addition, you couldn’t be more on trend for the Spring.

To wrap up this post, don’t sweat that you are last minute to game. So am I. All you have to do, it utilize your closet! Grab your favorite sporty jacket (which I know you have in blue, white, red, black, or silver). In reality, you probably have one in each of those colors! Layer your favorite sweater underneath and throw on some jeans. The look is not complete without a fun pair of sneakers, though and then you are good to go! Although, your real homework for the day is to check out MSGM! I promise, you will fall in love.

I love your feminine take on a sporty look! And I am with you girl, I had no idea when it was, let alone who was playing, till my husband filled me in about a week ago! Haha! And I didn’t watch it either! Well, just the Lady Gaga part, but who could miss that!? Hope you had fun Sunday!

I had no idea about Super Bowl being this Sunday until my dear friend Joanne who actually lives in Houston (where it’s held this year) told me about it. But I always enjoy the half time shows, haha. But seriously babe, those sneakers are AMAZING! I am totally in LOVE!

What a fun sporty look! I’ve been a little out of the loop this football season too. It’s been a painful couple of years to be a 49er fan and I can’t bear to watch! I will watch the big game Sunday though of course!

Have a fun weekend & thanks for linking up!

I am so in the same boat! My kids had to tell me who was playing, and the radio told me when the Super Bowl was! Those platform sneaks are so cool and I love lace with the sporty sweatshirt!

Okay, I am obsessed with this sweatshirt because that is the year I was born… and I feel like I need it… lol

Also what is funny is just today I was talking to my coworkers and one mentioned her school has a “Superbowl break,” and although my initial thought was who gets out of school for Super Bowl my second thought was no way its this weekend…. sure enough lol I guess after the Cowboys lost, I lost interest.

    Loved this post!

Girl, you and me both! 1993 babies šŸ™‚ A Super Bowl break?! I’d never heard of that either. šŸ˜‚ Everyone just lost interest so fast. Oh well, I hope you had a fabulous time watching Lady Gaga’s performance, at least!

This is such a sporty and feminine outfit! The lace details definitely added a nice touch. And regarding football, I will have to agree that the patriots have a better chance at winning but you never know! I was hoping for some other teams to actually play as well! Tired of seeing the same teams making in the super bowl!

    • February 7, 2017 / 1:36 pm

Well your prediction was correct! So happy for Tom Brady. I agree, though. It’s time for some other teams to step up! Thanks so much, Huyen!

“Pretend you’re rooting for one.” Haha, I love it – and this totally used to be me until I met my die-hard Patriot’s fan of a husband. These shoes are so killer! What a fun twist to a classic sneaker. Love all the layering going on too!
