Spring Gleaming | Top 5 Spring Makeup Trends

First of all, Happy St. Patrick’s Day! If you are having some wardrobe malfunctions with finding the perfect green outfit, check out my St. Patrick’s Day post for some inspiration! Wouldn’t want you to get pinched… Anyways, now back to today’s post. Due to the winter weather, our love of Spring fashion trends has been continually postponed. We wait and wait until this weather decides to act like Spring, and it keeps throwing us for a loop. I don’t know about you, but I’m over it! It’s time to focus on trends that we can currently incorporate into our daily lives. With that being said, today is all about the top 5 Spring makeup trends!

Glowing Highlight

Spring Gleaming | Top 5 Spring Makeup Trends

Maybelline FaceStudio Master Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter in Light/Iridescent || Pixi + Aspyn Ovard Glow-y Powder in London Lustre || Colourpop Pearlized Highlighter in Lunch Money

The first of the spring makeup trends that I want to talk about, is the infamous glowing highlight. I’m going to make an assumption, but I feel like everyone likes to feel like they are “glowing from within”. Am I right? I know that many people like to show off that intense highlight. Sometimes, I even like to! Although, the talk of the town is that the more subtle, dewy glow is going take a step up to the plate.

Personally, I have really been digging the cream and liquid highlights. My two favorites at the moment are the Maybelline FaceStudio Master Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter in Light/Iridescent (Jamie Paige made me get it) + the Colourpop Pearlized Highlighter in Lunch Money. If you apply them with a beauty blender, it really sinks in and looks more like your actual skin. In contrast, both of these highlights are very build-able and can transform into that intense highlight. P.S. For a more blended and natural look, apply them first before your powder products.

To top of your cream or liquid highlight, I’ve been loving to finish off the look with a subtle powder highlight. My current favorite is the new Pixi + Aspyn Ovard Glow-y Powder in London Lustre. KathleenLights made me buy it… Between her and Jamie Paige, nobody else can make me drop everything just to buy a beauty product. No one! Anyways, this Pixi + Aspyn Ovard highlight is super subtle, and adds the perfect finishing touch to your “glow from within” look. In addition, it’s a drug store product! Who doesn’t love that?

Bronzy Skin

Spring Gleaming | Top 5 Spring Makeup Trends

Marc Jacobs Air Blush Soft Glow Duo in Flesh & Fantasy || Milani Baked Bronzer in Soleil

I’m all about bronzy skin, but I’m as pale as it gets right now. Gotta get that Kim K “no-makeup-makeup” look on point! The best way to do this is to focus on your skin. Make sure your skincare is above par!  Anyways, in order to achieve that look without looking crazy, these two products have got the job done flawlessly. The first product I want to talk about it the Milani Baked Bronzer in Soleil. This is another product that KathleenLights made me buy, but I’m so glad she did! Plus, it’s another drug store product. Score! The only concern is, that it has an orangey undertone. Depending on your skin tone, it might not work for you. So just be aware.

The second product is the Marc Jacobs Air Blush Soft Glow Duo in Flesh & Fantasy. Now I got this for Christmas and was nervous to try it. I’m not usually a neutral brown blush girl, but this blush has changed my life. With these two products in conjunction, it gives you the most flawless, bronzed skin! Plus, the blush has a subtle peachy-pink undertone. Seriously, it’s the perfect everyday go-to blush, no matter your skin tone!

Bold Orangey-Red Lip

Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick in Defiant Coral || Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in A-Go-Go

To make your bronzy skin and glowy highlight really pop, an orangey-red lipstick is the perfect color to pair with. Any bold lip will do, but this has been my favorite. You can either mix an orange and red lipstick together to create your own shade, or I have two favorites that you will love. The Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick in Defiant Coral or the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in A-Go-Go are perfect options. In addition, A-Go-Go is also available in a liquid lipstick. I mean, it is a cult favorite! If you don’t want to have to worry about if it’s smearing everywhere, this is an amazing option. In addition, Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipsticks in general stay all day. They actually matte down to mimic a liquid lipstick.

Sparkly Shadows

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in Kitten Karma + Smoky Storm

These have been all over social media, but for a good reason. I bought into the hype, because I love a good sparkly eyeshadow. These Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadows are just taking this trend to the next level. If you want to test out one, I would definitely get Kitten Karma, for two reasons. One, it’s a very universally flattering color and it goes with everything. Two, it glides on so smoothly with no patchiness whatsoever. I’ve noticed Smoky Storm is a little patchy. As a tip though, apply these after your eye look is complete. They dry fast and once they are dry, they are not moving. This product is going to be so fun for the Spring and Summer!

Dewy Skincare

Tarte Hydration Vacation Skincare Travel Set || Tarte Lip Facial Lip Scrub

Finally, you have to maintain your skincare. I use the Tarte Lip Facial Lip Scrub religiously, and this is the third time I have repurchased it. Plus, I featured it + the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist in my “What’s In My Travel Makeup Bag!” post. That’s how you know it’s true love. I use the Lip Facial Lip Scrub every night before bed. I can’t tell you the last time I’ve had chapped lips, because of this. TheRainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist is by far my favorite setting spray. The spray nozzle is mists very evenly + the smell just makes you feel like you are on vacation. Who doesn’t want that in a makeup product?

As for the rest of the Tarte Hydration Vacation Skincare Travel Set, it comes with the Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist (as I said earlier), the Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel, the Drink of H2O Hydrating Boost Moisturizer, plus one pair of the Pack Your Bags 911 Undereye Rescue Patches. It’s the perfect little set to try all these products out. In addition, you get more bang for your buck. The whole set costs $29, when the Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist alone costs $25. Originally, I just wanted the mist, but it was financially smarter to get the set. Now I can try out some new products! Such a great deal.

There’s no need to wait to try out some Spring trends! What are you most excited to rock this Spring?

Although I don’t use this type of makeup (I keep myself to concealers and primers and the “regular” stuff) I love reading about trends in makeup as they correlate with trends in fashion as well and give me an insight in what’s to come šŸ™‚

    Soo many goodies here!
I love lunch money by coloupop, I need that Milani bronzer, I ended up returning my still shadow šŸ™ it wasn’t easy to work with blending wise and it wouldn’t stay. I also got that tarte kit and I love it!!

I will admit, the Stila eyeshadows were hard to work with. They seem to work for me when I apply them last and work quickly. Not ideal, I know. Seems to me like we have similar makeup tastes! Great minds think alike.

Okay, you are a nude and mauvy color girl. So I will except defeat for that one haha. So glad you liked the rest of them, though!

Okay, how did I miss that Aspyn Ovard had a line with Pixi?? I want to try it now!! Also, I’m completely obsessed with all things Tarte and specifically the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea line, so good choices there! These are all such fantastic picks!

It’s subtle, but so so gorgeous! You would absolutely love it! They have two other shades, but were sold out at my Target. I knew you would like the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea kit, with your foundation review! That line is just killing it!

I’m so over the cold too and ready for spring! I love all these spring makeup trends. My favorite is the bronzed look but I can’t wait to try metallic eyeshadow!

The bronzed trend is probably my favorite too. Just makes you feel better for some odd reason haha. Thanks so much!

I’ve been loving a bronze skin with highlight recently! I found an amazing highlighter that has a bronze/gold tint to it that helps make my skin glow! These are all great, since it’s still so cold out šŸ™
