Every once in awhile, do you come across something interesting that you’ve never heard about or don’t know much information regarding it? Then all of a sudden, you see it everywhere! It’s like the universe wants to make sure that you really understand this concept. There’s actually a name for this, and it’s called the “Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon” or “frequency illusion”. I always found it weird when this happens to me, and this time it was about styling subscription services. With that being said, I’m introducing a new series called “Save More & Stress Less With Styling Subscription Services”!

Granted, I have heard about styling services. Although, I never found the use for them as a person who loves clothes and styling. I was looking more into them as a career path. Then one day I saw a bunch of fashion influencers advertising Le-Tote. I know this post says Stitch Fix, but I have to lead up to that. Anyways, I was intrigued. I saw it being advertised once, and then at least five more times that day. I didn’t understand what the hype was about. Yes influencers are paid to do this, but at the same time I was fascinated.

With the urge to learn more, I signed myself up for a box. As the “Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon” proclaims, the illusion will then appear again, and often frequently. Then came along some Stitch Fix ads. The more you see those ads, the more you can’t get them out of your head. People sure know how to market. Needless to say, I subscribed for a Stitch Fix box as well. I figured if I was intrigued to learn more about these services, maybe you will be too! Over the next couple of weeks, keep an eye out for the rest of the series. So far I have Le Tote and Trunk Club coming up next. Let me know if you are interested in any other ones, and I would be glad to do the dirty work for you.

Now I’m sure you’re curious as to when I’m going to share how to save more and stress less with these styling subscription services. Without further ado:

1. Your stylist does all the work for you!

All you have to do is fill out your profile. By providing them with sizes, fit/cut, style, and price range, you give them everything they need in order to do their job correctly. Although, the more detail you provide, the better their styling will reflect your personality and style.

2. They cater to your personality, through social media.

No need to send them individual pictures of what your style looks like. They take care of you through your social media profiles! If you would like to share your social media profiles, this extremely helps them cater towards your individual style. I linked up my Instagram HandleTwitter HandlePinterest Boards, and even my LinkedIn Profile! This better illustrates what you currently wear, what you wish you could wear, pieces you will never wear, and the types of clothing you need to wear. For example, by providing your LinkedIn profile, they can better understand what you need to wear for work.

3. Their team is top notch and extremely diverse.

As stated on their website, “We’re proud to work with thousands of passionate Stylists from all over the U.S. They’re trendsetters and fashion experts who are motivated to learn about your style and evolving needs, in order to find the perfect pieces for you. Your Style Profile answers and continued feedback powers the engine of the Stitch Fix experience.”

4. Their edge against competition.

With Stitch Fix, you get the best results without ever having to leave your house or talking to anyone on the phone. Their mission is “to change the way people find clothes they love by combining technology with the personal touch of seasoned style experts. The Stitch Fix experience is not merely curated—it’s truly personalized to you.” With Trunk Club, you have to communicate with your stylist in real time via phone or  messenger app. As for Le Tote, you are in control of the pieces that are sent to you. Neither of these points are cons, just depends on personal preferences. The fact that Stitch Fix uses technology and social media to uncover people’s personal styles really intrigues me. Guess that’s why I’m a blogger!

5. In the end, you can save some cash!

With Stitch Fix, you receive five pieces in your box. If you decide to purchase all five of your items, you automatically get 25% off your box! Not only is it amazing to come home to five amazing pieces, but you can even save on them as well!

To further clarify Stitch Fix’s agenda, I thought I would pull some common questions together. These are some of the questions I was asking when I decided to start this series:

Q: Are the clothes actually cute? Really?

A: Personally, I’m in love! If you’re curious as to what the rest of my box looked like, check out this post. I was very apprehensive about what the clothing would look like. Would they be too mature for me? You know I love to get creative with my outfits, so would it suit my personality? All I have to say, is my stylist did amazing!

Q: Will the clothes actually represent my personality and style?

A: For us millennials, we slightly have an advantage. Because we are so involved in social media, this is the key for stylists to really capture indivual styles. With that being said, yes! Make sure to provide your social media accounts (as they are only being used to help style). Like I said before, the more detail you provide, the better.

Q: Why would bloggers be interested in subscribing?

A:  TBH, I was thinking that exact same thing. As a blogger, we are constantly looking for new pieces for content. The more updated pieces we have, the better. Since Stitch Fix is a subscription service, you can decide how often you would like new clothes. Another reason, is they provide you with pieces you don’t always think to purchase. At the same time, you need these pieces! For example, I love buying statement pieces. When it comes to staples, it’s harder for me to think about buying them. Needless to say, I was thrilled when I received these khaki green, moto-styled, pants. Not only do they work for the summer, but they will be amazing to transition into the fall! This also works vise versa. If you are scared to purchase prints, they know you need to have a little bit of fun every once in awhile.

Q: How much is this really going to cost me?

A: On average, each piece is going to cost about $55. Although in your profile, you are able to adjust to accommodate your budget. If you do end up buying all five pieces (which I was not expecting, because honesty I didn’t expect to love them all), you save 25%. For me, I ended up saving $100. All together my box cost around $200. A bit pricey, but if you break it down by piece it’s very averagely priced. I was expecting to do a monthly subscription, but I might do every other month. I love Stitch Fix, but my wallet won’t every month. You could even do it by season, which is extremely helpful!

i’ve wondered a lot about stitch fix. my older sister tried it and didn’t care for it because they didn’t send her anything she’d ever wear, BUT she also doesn’t have social media, so that may have been a defining factor. i’d love to try them out and at least see if i like them sometime. it’s cool to hear more about what you think!

Yea, I feel the social media deal really helps them cater to their customer more specifically. She should definitely give it another go, as should you! You would absolutely love it!

I have actually tried Stitch Fix and I also wasn’t expecting to love it but when I received all the pieces my stylist chose for me, I fell in love! My favorite part was the price of course hahah and not having to commit to all the pieces. I also liked that I could communicate with my stylist about what worked and didn’t work for me.

The pieces you got go perfectly with your style! That off yellow looks amazing on you šŸ™‚
