Punta Cana Photo Round Up

If you follow me on Instagram, then you would have probably been bombarded by all my pictures from my family vacation. This year we went to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and I got a little carried away with all the pictures. I couldn’t help myself! Everywhere you look is beyond photogenic, and I wasn’t about to miss anything! Therefore, I’m going to take you along for the ride. I want to give you the behind the scenes look as to where we stayed, what we did, and of course all my outfits. If you are curious as to any of these subjects, I’d love for you to stick around!

Swim Suits

When on vacation, you live in swimsuits. Am I right? Therefore, I brought quite the selection of bathing suits with me. My favorites have to be these two one-piece suits. In my last post, I gave you the inside scoop of where to find the best one-piece swim suits. If you are in the market for one, you should definitely check it out HERE. Furthermore, they are all on sale! I highly suggest checking this post out if you are going near the water for Labor Day! I don’t know about you, but the pool is calling my name…

Outfits Of The Day

Usually I’m one to lay out all day everyday, while I’m on vacation (or at least until I’m burnt to a crisp). This year was a little bit different. We stayed at a house in the Punta Cana Resort district, and it has quite the history to it. I’ll explain in more detail later on, but I don’t want it to steal the outfits’ thunder quite yet. Anyways, there were so many places to explore on the property, so most of our late afternoons were spend exploring. I wanted to be comfortable, but still cute. The things we do for the gram’. Most of these pieces can double as swim coverups, which is what I ended up doing anyways. My personal favorite are the rainbow pants! I like to call them my “Joseph and The Amazing Technical Dream Pants”. Holla at your girl if you get this reference!

Outfits Of The Night

Now I don’t have as many OOTN to show you, because we always ate so late. We like to drag out the day as long as possible. Unintentionally, I brought a lot of pieces from Lulu’s. No matter the occasion, they always seem to come in clutch. That’s where I got this floral two-piece set and the striped OTS maxi dress from. These two looks, were the stars of the vacation if I do say so myself. They were definitely the most popular via Instagram. As for the last look, I would stay tuned for the maxi skirt. It’s going to be a real game changer for the fall!

Adventures

As I said earlier, most of of time was taken up by explorations and adventures. Towards the end of the trip, we got to go off roading and ride some ATVs! By far the highlight of the trip, at least for me. If you ever decide to take a trip to Punta Cana, I highly suggest checking out Adventure Buggies! Not only do you get to get to wear these festive bandanas, but you get to swim in a cave, explore a beach, and learn how they make their coffee! It was also a very humbling experience. While we were driving, we were bombarded by the locals. If you know anything about the Dominican Republic, you know that most of the country is in poverty. It just made us all realize just how lucky we have it.

Home For The Week

We somehow got lucky (which never EVER happens), and snagged this gorgeous place up for the week. As I said earlier, it’s located in the Punta Cana Resort. Remember how I said I had some history to tell you?

A couple years ago, a hurricane completely wiped out some of the island. Many resorts and hotels were evacuated and forced to close down, because they couldn’t afford the insurance. This part was a bit depressing, but these properties have turned into real live jungle book buildings (like the first picture, for example). In addition, some of these places are being renovated, so some life is coming back. Slow and steady wins the race. It was all kind of like an eerie dream, but it was beyond fascinating. I sound crazy, I know. That’s another reason why you might see some construction going on throughout the pictures. There’s just so much to be learned on this island, and I can’t wait to go back!
