On Wednesday’s We Wear Pink | NYE Edition

Apparently my post went live yesterday without me even knowing… so glad Mercury is in retrograde. Anyways, I know NYE isn’t on a Wednesday, but today is hump day. So we must wear pink! With the new year coming, we all strive to come up with resolutions to better our self. Many are broken, because in most cases they are too far out of range to accomplish. The key is setting the bar only a couple steps higher as opposed to a whole floor. It needs to be in reach. With that, let’s set and conquer our new years resolutions! I promise, I actually have a point behind this mosh pit of pink.

For my new years resolution, I want to be able to take risks and to do things that scare me. I mean this in both my actual life and my wardrobe. I’m not sure if you have caught on, but I am not a huge fan of pink. It tends to be way too feminine for me and I’m a tomboy at heart. I thought what better way to kick off the new year, than to start it with conquering my resolution! The pieces of clothing that scare me the most are pink. Instead of just half-a$$ing my resolution, I wanted to go all out! Besides, I actually kind of like it. They say life begins at the end of your comfort zone, so what pieces scare you the most to wear?

This pink embroidered pullover from Anthropologie is my new favorite piece, though. With it’s belled sleeves, it can work in a causal or a dressed up atmosphere. I like to always combine dressed up pieces to make them more causal and vise versa so, this piece is the perfect focal point to start your outfit around. In addition, Anthropologie always has the cutest stuff. I also knew my night could not be complete without a pop of velvet, so this Urban Outfitters skater skirt worked perfectly with this top. It even amped up the outfit a little more and made it more festive for NYE. I mean, you have to have some glamour element.

This outfit is already bound to make a statement with it’s monochromatic color scheme and textured fabrics, so I wanted to keep the rest of the look cohesive and clean. I paired these Vince Camuto heels with the look, because it matched the flowers in the top so flawlessly. Vince Camuto can never do wrong. Plus, it added some height and some spice to the look.

Lastly, I wanted to bring out the gold speckles in the top so I layered on some new, gold jewelry that I got from my best friend for Christmas! The choker is from the Express outlets, so if you are near one I would definitely check it out. She always finds the greatest stuff there. My pendant, coordinates necklace is from an Etsy shop call Mignon and Mignon. You can get them customized to whatever city you want and it’s such a cute way to reminisce your memories together. I met her when we studied abroad in Florence, Italy and we both went to Kent State for college. On one side she had the coordinates for Florence and on the other side she had the coordinates for Kent. Seriously one of my favorite presents.

You should feel powerful and strong in what your wear, so let that fear fuel your empowerment. 2016 was a bit rough, so it’s time for a fresh start! I could not be more ready and excited for the new year to start. I have so much hope and excitement for what is to come. Use this as an exercise to channel some of your personal goals in your fashion sense. Try new pieces that scare you and see what happens! You never know if you don’t try. I hope you all have an amazing NYE and stay tuned for another post this week! You won’t want to miss it.

I’m glad you took a risk and wore so much pink! It looks great on you!! Seriously! I think it really flatters your skin tone! Yay for taking more risks in 2017!

I love that you went all out with this post! We are totally one in the same because pink has forever been on my do-not-wear list and just recently I started introducing it to my wardrobe. My former-pink-hating-self would be sneering at me right now but I’m actually kind of loving it! I don’t think I’ll ever sport a neon pink, but colors similar to what you’re wearing – dusty rose, blush – I can definitely get used to!

My favorite piece from this entire post was “the key is setting the bar only a couple steps higher as opposed to a whole floor.” Preach, girlfriend! I love that you conquered your “fear” of pink in this monochromatic pink ensemble. It looks so great on you! Definitely bring that color into your wardrobe more in 2017 ๐Ÿ˜‰ Can’t wait to see what the new year has in store for you!

See that’s a New Years resolution way of thinking that appeals to me a lot! Don’t set the bar too high, set it somewhere reachable! And I love how you start off with the resolutions even before New Years by posting this pink outfit that has been such a big nono in your wardrobe before. Tomboy or not, pink looks amazing on you and I’m glad you challenged yourself with this outfit! Can’t wait for your next post! ๐Ÿ™‚
