Harvest the Dress

I don’t know where you live, but today was the first appearance of cooler weather. Consequently, tomorrow will probably be sauna weather. We are still in that grey area of coordinating our clothing with the weather. Due to the hype of the upcoming weather, sweaters, plaid shirts, and beanies are all we have on our mind. The fall calls for us all to be basic and we are all getting antsy for our favorite pieces! Fear not, though. The versatility of the summer dress strikes again, but in a different and more harvested manner. We can at least go all out on our layering!

When it gets just a little bit cooler, everyone goes crazy and whips out their Han Solo outfits. Hence, the riding boots, black jeans, white sweaters and the puffy vests. I don’t know about you, but it’s kind of like a song on the radio. Everyone loves it at first, but then gets quickly over-played. As a result, I challenge you this fall to step outside the box and coordinate some of your summer pieces into your looks. Furthermore, this is the perfect opportunity to since, the cooler weather hasn’t fully kicked in yet.

Vest season is on the rise, but you don’t have to resort to being a Han Solo clone. Harvest your summer dresses and furthermore, transition them into vests! I’ll admit, I stumbled upon this idea on accident. Although isn’t that’s how all great ideas occur? Besides, the long vests are trending more that the puffy vests. In addition, they tend to be a lighter fabric. This gives you the perfect opportunity to get your final wears out of your summer dresses, while differentiating yourself from the crowd.

The best way this works is to utilize your button-down dresses. I found mine at a boutique in Charleston, but Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom, and ASOS have plenty to work with. Also, most of them will probably be on sale with the new shipments of fall clothing taking over. As a result, just simply unbutton the entire dress and layer it over anything! You could throw it over another dress, a romper, or even a cute top and some jeans. In addition, throw on your favorite fall booties to add a fall edge to your look. If you find yourself stumped with a colorful dress or a vibrant print, coordinate a color scheme to help guide you. In conclusion, use this excitement for fall to really channel some new and interesting looks for yourself!
