Feast On The Fringe | A Casual, Thanksgiving OOTD

IMG_9964_

To be quite honest, I’m nowhere near ready for the holidays. I don’t know if it’s because the Christmas season has started earlier according to most businesses, but I feel like the fall season was just too quick. It’s so hard to let go! With that being said, I’m going to cling onto it up to Thanksgiving. Cue all the warm, rustic tones, and fall foliage pictures! Furthermore, I’m in full 70s mode when it comes to fashion right now. I feel like it’s earthy, burnt color schemes coordinate better with the fall. Before I dive into Christmas gift guides, Black Friday deals, and Cyber Monday picks, you will just have to stick with me and my warm 70s vibes for Thanksgiving!

If you haven’t checked out my last post, I covered the most valuable 70s trends that will slay your holiday season. Basically, if you want to get into more detail about how to incorporate 70s fashion into your daily routine for the next month and a half, that’s going to be your saving grace.

Today, I really wanted to focus on how to come in clutch with your Thanksgiving outfit. As I said earlier, I feel so behind on everything this year. I just recently got a part-time job at J.Crew, and they have been scheduling me like crazy! It’s awesome and I’m glad I’m getting the hours, but it causing some major shifts in my scheduled life. Anyways, I’m in need of a last minute outfit (or piece) that just screams Thanksgiving. That’s when I came across this fringe sweater. It literally looks like a turkey! I get it, it’s kinda weird. Although, who doesn’t love Thanksgiving? I’m rolling with the CIC punches, and I’ve linked my top (and quickly available) fringe pieces that are perfect for Thanksgiving dinner!

Fringe always know how to transforms an every day outfit into something super fun and festive. It adds movement to the look, which is what we always strive for. Am I right? The great thing about this Zara sweater, is that it does most of the work for me. Most of the attention is going to be focused on it, which allows me to be casual throughout the rest of my look. If you live in a city with a Zara, go grab it! We can be turkey twins! Although, I guess that depends on how your family dresses for Thanksgiving. We always for for the causally, cute vibes. Festive, but not hard core. What’s your family’s dress code for Thanksgiving?

If you are in the same boat as me, you really only need that one clutch piece to transform your outfit. Go shop in your closet, and see what you can find. I’d start with color first. Color always makes a statement the quickest. Then, maybe look for some fringe, or some kind of movement. Finally if all else fails, use Thanksgiving dinner as a time for your jewelry to take center stage. To keep the fringe theme going, I added these Anna & Ava fringe earrings. Not only do they compliment the sweater, but it dresses up the look just a bit more. Statement earrings are the perfect way to elevate a casual look. You can even shop these exact ones at Dillards! I even linked a couple other ones. Most of these statement earrings I listed down below are from major retailers that everyone has around them!

If you are last minute with your Thanksgiving outfit as well, never fear! CIC has got your back. Start, by looking in your closet to see what you already have. Be on the look out for fun colors, interesting textures, or statement jewelry. If that fails, get in the car and go to one of your closest major retailers. Nordstrom is the popular fav, but don’t forget about Dillard’s, Macy’s, and Target. They are perfect for last minute fashion solutions. When in doubt, whip out some fringe for the ultimate festive flare!
