Back-to-School Series | Booyah, It’s the 90s

We are two worlds apart, but they sure can reach to your heart and your style. When I think about the greatest songs to jam out to, 90% of them come from the 90s (see what I did there). I also figured it was the perfect decade to start CIC’s Back-to-School Series, because it’s when I started school. With the 90s trend overpowering the world currently, it was the perfect opportunity to style one of many 90s outfits. You could say I want it that way.

Since I started kindergarten in the 90s, I figured I would take inspiration from a more youthful side of the 90s. Most people think of grunge as the leading 90s theme. It is a very prominent part of the 90s, but there are a multitude of other trends. Denim, overalls, and sneakers are ranked extremely high in the most popular 90s trends currently. I decided that was a much more youthful way to interpret my life in the 90s. I even focused on the primary colors, to further elaborate some youth. Not to mention, this Tiny Toons graphic tee was just the cherry on top.

As you grow up, you start to mature in your style habits. When you are younger, your creativity is through the roof. Every thought is wanting to be portrayed in the outfit, so a lot of times the outfit is quite busy. As you grow older, you learn to edit. Your style either becomes more minimalistic or you learn how to strategically style without going overboard. For that reason, I went a little overboard on the accessorizing. It is still in a tasteful way though, because the actual outfit is very simple. Through the power of styling and accessorizing, you can make or break an outfit. You are my fire. The one desire. Believe when I say, accessories and styling rule the world.
