8 Pieces to Help Train-sition Into Fall Now

Ever since the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale started, I’ve been craving fall. Before you exit out of this blog post for me mentioning the Nsale, this is not what the post is about. It just got me thinking. Yes I bought some things from the sale, but now I have to wait till it starts getting colder. You best believe I bought way too many coats and sweaters… Although who has time to actually wait around for two more months? Really I do, but I just don’t feel like it. I know I’m not the only one! Today I’m talking about 8 pieces to help transition into fall, that you can start wearing RIGHT NOW!

1. Hats

This type of  “grandpa cap” made its appearance last fall, but I don’t think everyone was quite ready to rock it. This coming season, I believe it will be the fall’s version of the straw hat. The great thing about this Birxton hat, is that it comes in multiple colors. This green/brown cap + an all black version is actually in the Nsale. I ended up getting it both colors… no shame! Leather baseball caps, suede, or felt hats would also be an amazing option that you could start wearing now. Accessories are always a great way to easily transition your look into different seasons.

2. Oxfords + Booties

Let’s keep it going with the accessories, shall we? The great thing about these two types of shoes it that they can cater to almost every season. Because of the low ankle cut of the oxfords, they can easily transition between the seasons. This pair in particular is from a brand called Louise et Cie, and I found out that it’s a line sold from Vince Camuto! No wonder I loved them so much. Plus, that gun metal metallic finish is just perfect for any outfit. I seriously feel so cool wearing them.

As for the booties, It’s become a common thing for them to be worn all year round. Thank you peep-toe booties! This design element really allows your feet to breathe, if you wear them in the warmer months. Why not start now?

3. Darker Lipsticks

Because it is still summer, bright bold lips are extremely popular. If you want to release your excitement for fall subtly, a darker lipstick is the perfect touch. I purchased Mac’s Stone earlier this summer, and couldn’t contain myself any longer. I was trying to wait for the fall for its debut, but then I asked myself, “Why do I need to wait?” By pairing it with some bright and fun sunnies, it tones down the harshness of the grey tones. In the end, I think it really makes a summer look that much more interesting. What’s your favorite dark lipstick?

4. Neck Scarfs

Neck scarfs have been around all spring and summer, so transitioning them into the fall will be easy. Instead of a bright, bold print, go for a more rustic vibe. That way you can still wear your summer dresses, but you can also include that subtle pop of fall!

5. Denim on Denim

The great thing about denim is it’s versatility. It has a way of fitting in seamlessly no matter the season. When in doubt, rock the Canadian tuxedo! Grab a denim vest and some high-waited mom jeans and you’re already looking so fallish. Pair it with a dark lip or some oxfords and you are subtly ready for fall.

6. Long Sleeve Dresses

Sun dresses are the epitome of summer. There’s just something about wearing a sun dress in the summer that feels so right. If you are back and forth on which season you are really rooting for, a long sleeve sun dress will do just the trick. Check out this post for more of a visual. To further push the fall limits, add some peep-toe booties!

7. Textured Pieces

I think this trend is my favorite part of the colder seasons. Bundling up into some fuzzy clothes or rocking some fringe pieces makes me so happy. It takes any basic piece and elevates it. Let’s take these oxfords for example. Because they have the metallic snake print, it brings such a 3D element to the shoes. So much more interesting than a basic pair of black oxfords, am I right?

8. Vampy Prints

All you have to do for this one, is change the color of your summer prints. Instead of rocking pink floral, maybe go for a darker and vampier floral print. Another example is these Free People shorts. If you look closely, they are camo. I got a darker camo print so that they would be easier to transition into the fall with. They also come in an army green, blue, and wine! I’m really trying to restrain myself from buying them in every color… I’m obsessed! Plus, I think the bermuda length makes the look so much more interesting and retro.
